本标准规定了饲料中丙酸、丙酸盐的气相色谱和高效液相色谱测定方法。本标准适用于丙酸含量在3 000 mg/kg以下的饲料原料、配合饲料、浓缩饲料中丙酸、丙酸盐（以丙酸计）的测定。
本标准中的气相色谱法的检出限为30 mg/kg，定量限为100 mg/kg；高效液相色谱法的检出限为30 mg/kg，定量限为100 mg/kg。
