本标准适用于只供灯及半灯具1)与电源连接时使用的E14、E27和E40型爱迪生螺口灯座。
本标准亦适用于只在工作电压不超过250 V（有效值）的交流电路中使用的开关式灯座。
本标准亦适用于工作电压不超过25 V，串联连接室内使用的E5型螺口灯座，工作电压不超过60 V，串联连接室内、室外使用的E10型螺口灯座，以及嵌装式单独与电源连接的E10灯座。这些灯座均不应零售。
就合理采用本标准而言，本标准还适用于与电源串联连接的非爱迪生螺口灯座。
