GB/T 18290的本部分适用于无焊压入式连接，这种连接用于通信设备和采用类似技术的电子设备中。
压入式连接具有嵌入双面或多层印制板电镀通孔的压入式接端。另外，为了在规定环境条件下获得稳定的电气连接，除试验程序外，本部分还规定了从工业使用实际出发的一些经验数据资料。
本部分的目的是为了确定在规定的机械、电气和大气条件下压入式连接的适用性。
按本部分仅对柔性压入区域进行鉴定。使用实心压入区域的有关资料在附录A中给出。
