GB/T 18477的本部分规定了以聚氯乙烯树脂（PVC）为主要原料，经挤出成型的适用于市政工程、公共建筑室外、住宅小区的埋地排污、排水、排气、通讯线缆穿线用的埋地用硬聚氯乙烯（PVC-U）加筋管材（以下简称管材）的定义、符号、材料、产品分类与标记、管材结构与连接方式、要求、试验方法、检验规则和标志、运输、贮存。
本部分适用于系统工作压力不大于0.2 MPa、公称尺寸不大于300 mm的低压输水和排污管材。
在考虑到材料的耐化学性和耐温性以后，也适用于工业排水排污工程用管材。
