GB/T 20448的本部分规定了在静态载荷作用下，自行式林业机械滚翻保护结构（ROPS）受力变形统一的、可重复验证的评价方法，并规定了在此载荷下，对试验样机的性能要求。它可应用于ISO 6814定义的林业机械，如：集运机、集材机、伐木归堆机、联合作业机、联合伐木机和木材装载机,但不适用于在旋转工作台上装有驾驶室的臂式起重机械（有关这部分内容的论述见ISO 80822）。
