GB/T 20448的本部分规定了在静态载荷作用下统一的、可重复的评价自行式林业机械滚翻保护结构（ROPS）载荷承受性能的方法，并规定了在此载荷下对典型试件的性能要求。
本部分适用于按林业机械配置的机械或ISO 6814中定义的林业机械，该机械在回转工作台上装有驾驶室和起重臂，由系座椅安全带的操作者操作。
本部分不适用于带不符合ROPS固定式驾驶室升降装置的升降驾驶室的林业机械。
