本标准规定了使用几何角度为20°(方法A)、45°(方法B)、60°(方法C)、及85°(方法D)时，测量铝及铝合金阳极氧化膜平面样品镜面反射率和镜面光泽度的方法，以及采用窄接收角的45°测量镜面反射率的方法(方法E)。
本标准主要适用于透明的阳极氧化膜表面，也能够用于着色的阳极氧化膜，但仅适用于相似颜色间的比较。
