GB/T 20818的本部分规定了：
● 通用数据字典（CDD)中集合了各类自动阀，包括控制阀、自动开/关阀和过程调节器的特性描述；
● 符合IEC 6198710的最终控制元件的操作属性列表（OLOP)和设备属性列表（DLOP)的通用结构。
OLOP和DLOP的通用结构包含用于最终控制元件的最重要的块。特定设备类型的相关块在IEC 61987系列标准的其他部分中描述。与此类似，本部分中不涉及设备属性。例如，截止阀和角行程阀的OLOP和DLOP在IEC 61987-22中规定。
注： 在分类中（见图1)，“最终控制元件”只有专门的自动阀和过程调节器。在实际中，还有其他专门的设备未在本部分中考虑。
