本标准规定了目视检测确定产品是否符合规定的要求时(例如：工件的表面状况、配合面的对准、工件的形状)，直接目视检测和间接目视检测的一般原则。
本标准不适用于使用其他任何破坏性检测或无损检测方法进行的检测活动。
GB/T 5616规定的应用无损检测时应遵循的基本规则适用于本标准。
