GB/T 2099的本部分规定了家用和类似用途的信息插座的标志、防触电保护、结构、电气性能、机械性能等技术要求。
本部分适用于户内或户外使用的、家用和类似用途的、用于连接互联网和传输信息的固定式插座或移动式插座。
信息插座适合在下述环境温度中使用：通常不超过+40 ℃，但在24 h期间内平均不超过+35 ℃，环境空气温度的下限值为-5 ℃。
注： 目前，本部分的信息插座适用于电话接口信息插座、网络接口信息插座及电视接口信息插座，其他信息插座(如，音频接口信息插座)的特殊要求正在考虑中。
