本标准论述了声屏障的效用。它规定了声屏障用户与供应商或厂家需协商一致的声学和使用要求。本标准可用于下列各种声屏障：
a) 用于办公室、服务区、展区及类似场所的独立声屏障；
b) 与此类场所的家具设施相结合的声屏障；
c) 用于车间的便携式和移动式声屏障；
d) 未作声学处理的、具有10%以上开口面积的房间固定分隔墙。
与房间边界面一起同样将房间分隔的局部隔声罩和工作间的墙体，其表面未做声学处理，并且具有10%以上开口面积，也可看作为声屏障。
