本标准规定了二氧化硅微粉产品的牌号、技术要求、试验方法、检验规则、包装、标志、贮存、运输和质量证明书。
本标准适用于硅铁和工业硅等生产中，通过电炉的烟罩收集的含硅气体氧化凝聚后，经干法收尘装置收集的二氧化硅微粉，该产品在本标准中被称为“电炉回收二氧化硅微粉”，简称为“二氧化硅微粉”(俗称“硅灰”)。
