本标准规定了泊车测距警示装置（以下简称测距警示装置）的要求、试验方法、检验规则、标志、包装、贮存和保管。
测距警示装置不能代替司机自动泊车，不是对泊车区域的其他人或物发出警报的装置。该装置仅是泊车时的辅助手段，不能减轻司机在泊车时应负的责任。
本标准适用于M、N类汽车。
