1.1 本标准适用于测定闭口闪点不低于38℃(采用GB/T 261测定)的中间馏分燃料的颗粒物含量，不适用于测定轻馏分燃料（如汽油）或喷气燃料。
1.2 对用于柴油发动机和民用的中间馏分燃料中颗粒物含量的限制，可以防止过滤器堵塞以及其他操作问题。本标准测定范围为不大于25 g/m3。
1.3 只有严格按照本标准条款进行测定，特别是滤膜材质（见6.9注）、试样量及试样完全过滤均符合本标准规定时，本标准的精密度才是有效的。
