本标准适用于交流50 Hz或60 Hz，额定电压至400 V各种预定用途的组合电器，其进线开关的额定电流不超过125 A。
本标准的目的是规定最常用的模数化终端组合电器(以下简称组合电器)的使用条件，结构和性能要求，试验方法和检验规则、产品标志等内容。该组合电器可作用户配电及线路的过载、短路、剩余电流和过压保护。
