本标准规定了在标准的测试条件下，色漆(包括水性涂料)、清漆、色漆基料、胶黏剂、石油及其相关产品，在－30℃～300℃的温度范围内所挥发出的易燃蒸气被测试火焰点燃的能力的一种方法。与闪点检测器（见A.1.6）一起使用时，本标准也适合脂肪酸甲基酯（FAME）的闪燃和非闪燃测试。
