本标准规定了液压挖掘机和挖掘装载机的反铲斗和抓铲斗（见图1）所能盛装的典型物料容量的近似标定方法。容量标定是按照铲斗内壁尺寸和堆尖物料体积而确定的。
铲斗容量的标定方法是把装在铲斗内的物料作为集合体分成若干简单的几何形状。
本标准的目的在于提供一个统一的比较铲斗容量的标定方法，而不是为了在各种使用场合下确定实际铲斗容量。
本标准不适用于机械挖掘机的铲斗。
