本标准包括了纯液体蒸气压力、混合物的蒸气压力（在一封闭管中，填充量为40%±5%时）及纯液体和混合液体的初始热分解温度的测定。本标准适用于测试温度下，在硼硅酸盐瓶中其蒸气压在133 Pa～101.3 kPa间的液体蒸气压的测定。
本测试方法温度适用范围为环境温度至748 K。如提供合适的恒温浴时，温度范围也可低于环境温度。
