Scope of Application: 
This standard's first method specifies the conditions and detailed analytical procedures for determining total, soluble, and insoluble dietary fiber in food using the enzyme-gravimetric method.
The first method of this standard is applicable to the determination of total, soluble, and insoluble dietary fiber in cereals, vegetables, fruits, and their products. However, it is not applicable to the determination of dietary fiber in foods containing low molecular weight resistant maltodextrin, fructooligosaccharides, galactooligosaccharides, polydextrose, and resistant starch.
