本标准规定了硼酸盐非线性光学单晶元件β相偏硼酸钡（β-BaB2O4，简称BBO）和三硼酸锂（LiB3O5，简称LBO）的术语、产品分类、技术要求、试验方法、检测规则及包装、标志、运输、贮存等。
本标准适用于硼酸盐非线性光学单晶元件BBO和LBO，其他种类的硼酸盐非线性光学单晶元件也可参照使用。该元件主要用于制作激光器。
