本标准规定了在包络锻压机械声源的测量表面上测量声压级以计算锻压机械噪声声功率级的方法。同时给出了声学环境、测量仪器及使用以及表面声压级及声功率级的计算方法。
本标准规定的方法只适用于在规定的动作规范时是“稳态”和“非稳态”的锻压机械噪声测量，而不适用于在规定的动作规范时是辐射“脉冲”噪声的锻压机械噪声测量。适用于具有一个反射面的符合规定要求的室内和室外环境。
注： 噪声分类（稳态、非稳态、准稳态、脉冲等）见GB/T 14259。
