本标准规定了三轮汽车和低速货车机械式变速器的技术要求、试验方法、检验规则、标志、包装、运输和贮存。
本标准适用于三轮汽车、低速货车所使用的机械式齿轮变速器（不包括与后桥连体的三轮汽车变速器）。对于采用八挡以上带副变速器的多挡变速器只适用于主变速器。
