GB/T 24367的本部分规定了基于同步数字体系（SDH）的自动交换光网络（ASON）节点设备技术要求，包括节点设备的基本组成，与控制平面、传送平面和数据通信网（DCN）相关的节点设备技术要求，相关接口的技术要求，性能指标要求，保护与恢复要求，管理要求，以及运行和维护要求等。本部分适用于在公用电信网中使用的，基于ITUT G.783—2006规范的SDH设备功能块特性之上的ASON节点设备。专用电信网中的同类设备亦可参照使用。
