本标准规定了铁氧体用氧化铁（以下简称氧化铁）的分类及代号、技术要求、检验方法、检验规则、包装、标志、运输、贮存及质量证明书等。本标准适用于氯化亚铁经喷雾焙烧制成的氧化铁（Fe2O3）。同时也适用于硫酸亚铁法、碳酸盐热分解和其他方法制得的氧化铁。该材料主要用于生产铁氧体元件，也可作为其他工业用途。
