本标准规定了纺织专用高效率三相异步电动机（以下简称电动机）的型式、基本参数与尺寸、技术要求、检验规则以及标志、包装与保用期的要求。
本标准适用于纺织专用高效率三相异步电动机（机座号90～225）。电动机具有较一般电动机更有效的防纤维堵塞能力和较高的过载能力，特别适应在短纤维的环境中使用。电动机适宜在一般纺织车间温、湿条件下工作。凡属本系列电动机所派生的其他各种电动机也可参照执行。
