本标准对在石油、石化和天然气工业设施中，用于抽取真空或提高压力或两者都有的干螺杆和喷油螺杆回转压缩机（以下简称压缩机，见图1）规定了术语和定义、基本设计、辅助设备、检验、试验和装运准备及卖方资料等要求。是用作专门用途的工艺流程压缩机。
本标准不适用于一般的空气压缩机、液环式压缩机和叶片式压缩机。
注： 标准空气压缩机包含在GB/T 25358—2010《石油及天然气工业用集装型回转无油空气压缩机》中。
