GB/T 25361的本部分规定了往复式内燃机外径为8 mm～100 mm的活塞销的基本尺寸特征。此外，本部分还规定了活塞销术语和定义、分类、基于机械性能的材料规格、一般特征及质量要求。本部分也可适用于在类似条件下工作的压缩机的活塞销。
对道路车辆外的其他用途活塞销，只要制造厂和客户共同商定，也可对GB/T 25361的本部分1）作适当修改后使用。
