本标准附录A规定了由于样品的粘结或潮湿而难于筛分、压碎和分离时所用的方法。在这种情况下，可对样品进行预干燥直到能顺利进行处理为止，预干燥后样品的水分可按附录A规定的步骤测定。附录B规定了对于铝土矿交货中遇到洒水和/或降雨时的校正方法。在货物受到雨淋和/或洒水控制扬尘的情况下，铝土矿的水分可按附录B对加入的水分予以校正。
