气相色谱图像与物理化学特性一样，是评估精油质量的参数之一。它是在制定精油标准时确定的。
气相色谱图像测定的不是精油组分的真实浓度，而仅仅是对组分间相对比例的评估。
注： 精油样品气相色谱图像的利用也同时参阅GB/T 26515.2—2011。
