本标准规定了索道及地面缆车用钢丝绳的分类、订货内容、材料、技术要求、检查与试验、验收、包装、标志及质量证明书。
 本标准适用于客运、货运架空索道、地面缆车、拖牵索道用的圆股钢丝绳、压实股钢丝绳及密封钢丝绳。
注：如未特别指明“货运索道”或“客运索道”，则为两者通用。如未具体说明是“承载索”、“运载索”、“牵引索”、“平衡索”、“张紧索”、“拖牵索”、“救护索”则为七种通用。
