本标准规定了玻璃纤维湿法毡（以下简称湿法毡）的分类和代号、产品规格、要求、试验方法、检验规则、标志、包装、运输和贮存。
本标准适用于以短切玻璃纤维原丝为原料在水中分散后，经抄取、脱水、施胶、干燥等工艺过程制造的玻璃纤维毡。该玻璃纤维毡主要用作防水材料、覆铜板、塑料地板、复合材料表层等产品中的增强材料，也可用于管道包覆和制作铅酸蓄电池隔板。
