本标准规定了重量(透湿杯)法测定薄页材料透湿度和折痕透湿度的方法。
本标准适用于平整的、能阻碍水蒸气透过的薄页包装材料，如纸、纸板、塑料薄膜、纸与薄膜或金属箔的复合材料、橡胶或塑料涂覆织物等。本方法不适用于在试验条件下由于接触热蜡而损坏或产生明显收缩的薄膜。对透湿度小于1 g/(m2·24 h)或厚度大于3 mm的材料，不建议使用此法。
