本标准规定了便携式铝合金梯的要求、检验方法、检验规则、可追溯性、标志、包装、运输、贮存、质量证明书、订货单（或合同）及装箱文件等内容。
本标准适用于家庭使用的以铝合金为主材制造的铝合金单梯、铝合金延伸梯（二节和三节延伸梯）、铝合金折梯和铝合金组合梯等便携式铝合金梯（以下简称梯子）。
本标准不适用于梯凳及特殊行业用的专用梯(如消防梯、屋顶梯和移动式梯)。
