GB/T 28029的本部分规定了绞线式列车总线（WTB）。
本部分适用于开式列车中编组间及编组内的数据通信。
应用本部分的列车通信总线（WTB）能实现开式列车中各个编组的互操作性。编组内部的数据通信网络（例如MVB）与TCN兼容，供应商提供WTB和编组网络兼容性证明。
若供应商与用户协商同意，本部分也可用于闭式列车及多单元列车。
注：本部分未考虑公共汽车、无轨电车等车辆。
