GB/T 28533的本部分规定了Ⅱ类爆炸性气体环境用“n”型电气耦合连接器（以下简称耦合连接器）的术语和定义、型式和基本参数、技术要求、试验方法、检验规则、标志、说明书、包装、运输和贮存等。
本部分适用于额定电压不高于690 V AC/DC的爆炸性气体环境用Ⅱ类“n”型（EPL Gc）耦合连接器。
本部分不适用于“n”型防爆插接装置类和其他防爆型式的耦合连接器。
