本标准规定了离心机转鼓旋转时转鼓壳体的环向应力的计算、各种系数的选取、转鼓强度的评定、有限元分析方法应用的指导性原则以及疲劳强度评定。
本标准适用于周向和轴向均匀承载的、厚度均匀的圆柱形或圆锥形的过滤转鼓或沉降转鼓的壳体。转鼓可带衬里、筛网或不带衬里、筛网。转鼓的材料必须是成分均一的韧性金属材料，并在选材时已考虑到了操作温度、介质对材料的影响。
