本标准规定了视频交通事件检测器的术语和定义、组成和型号、技术要求、试验方法、检测规则、标志、包装、运输及贮存。
本标准适用于在高速公路、普通公路等场所使用的视频交通事件检测器或以交通事件检测为主、以交通参数检测为辅的视频交通事件检测器，城市道路可参照使用。
本标准不适用于只对交通参数进行检测的设备。
