本标准规定了铁道车辆车外和车内的标志内容、形式、数量、安置位置、图形、字体、尺寸和制作等要求。
本标准适用于下列铁道车辆所需标志的设置：
——动车组及客车的旅客服务标志、工作标志和管理标志；
——货车的工作标志和管理标志。
本标准不适用于铁道车辆所用设备的原理图、线路图、使用说明标牌。
