GB/T 29771的本部分规定了工业机械用数字控制器设计、制造、验收及应用的基本要求，包括技术要求、试验方法、检验规则、标志、包装、运输、储存和随同技术文件。
本部分适用于额定电压不超过AC 1 000 V、DC 1 500V，额定频率不超过200 Hz的工业机械用数字控制器或数字控制装置（以下简称控制器），例如,金属切削机床、铸锻机械、木工机械、特种加工机床、塑料机械、纺织机械、缝制机械等配用的控制器。其他机械的数字控制器也可参照本部分。
