本标准规定了测定粒度大于2.0 mm的颗粒状耐火材料体积密度的两种方法：
--方法1：称量法；
--方法2：滴定管法。
方法1用作仲裁法。根据被测材料的性质，两种方法可以得出不同的结果。因此，报告体积密度值时应说明所用的方法或在有争议时应该使用的方法。对于试样的体积测定，选样和制样，计算体积密度以及提出的试验报告都应采用同一种方法。
本标准适用于颗粒状耐火材料体积密度、吸水率和显气孔率的测定。
