本标准规定了结构用直缝埋弧焊接钢管的尺寸、外形、重量、技术要求、试验方法、检验规则、标志、包装和质量证明书。
本标准适用于建筑、桥梁、塔架、桩柱、支杆和其他一般结构用的外径不小于400 mm的直缝埋弧焊接钢管（以下简称“钢管”），不适用于机械结构用钢管。
