本标准规定了用于低温余热发电或驱动用背压式和凝汽式螺杆膨胀机（组）热力性能的试验方法和计算程序。本标准规定了试验的准备、实施、评估的统一规则，同时也包含了进行试验条件的细节。
本标准适用于工质为汽水两相、饱和蒸汽或过热蒸汽的螺杆膨胀机组，以及非水为工质（如低沸点工质）的双循环螺杆膨胀机组。
若有本标准未涉及的任何复杂或特殊情况，制造商和买方应在合同签订之前达成适当的协议。
