GB/T 30839的本部分规定了各类电热浴炉能耗分等的通用要求，包括电热浴炉能耗参数、能耗范围、能耗参数等级划分和指标以及试验方法等。本部分适用于工业企业用于金属零件在盐浴、碱浴或油浴中进行热处理加热的电热浴炉，也适用于类似的电热浴炉，如金属浴炉。
本部分供电热浴炉制造厂、工业生产中的电热浴炉用户以及有关检测仲裁机构，考核和评价电热浴炉产品能耗水平和实际使用过程中的能耗状况，以促进电热浴炉制造工艺水平的提高，达到节能降耗的目的。
