本标准适用于以电动机驱动，采用蒸气压缩制冷循环，以空气作为冷(热)源，基于直接制冷(制热)系统，名义制冷(热)能力≤12 000 W，用于调节水族箱及类似用途水温度的水温调节机。
其他用途的水温调节机，例如在商店、餐馆和水产养殖场中由非专业人员使用的水温调节机可参照使用。
