本标准适用于额定电压不超过250 V的单级电磁活塞式气泵（以下简称气泵)。该类气泵主要用于水族箱及水产养殖场，通过向水中泵入空气而增加水中的含氧量；也可用于需提供气压、气量的其他类似场所。
本标准不适用于输送除空气以外气体的泵。
