本标准规定了镀铝玻璃镜的术语和定义、分类、要求、试验方法、检验规则、标志、包装、运输和贮存等。
本标准适用于以平板玻璃为基板，采用真空磁控溅射镀膜或真空蒸发镀膜工艺镀覆铝薄膜，并施以涂料作为保护层，且在室内使用的镜子。
本标准不适用于以非平板玻璃和平板玻璃加工制品为基板制成的镀铝玻璃镜，如：以压花玻璃、钢化玻璃、半钢化玻璃、夹层玻璃、热弯玻璃等制成的镜子。
