本标准适用于检测生活污水、工业废水和地表水等水体中化学需氧量（COD）的测定仪，其检测原理或检测方法一般采用重铬酸钾氧化-氧化还原滴定法、重铬酸钾氧化-分光光度法和重铬酸钾氧化-库仑滴定法。其他原理或检测方法的化学需氧量（COD）测定仪（以下简称“仪器”）可参考本标准。
