本标准规定了空间材料科学实验装置多功能高温炉（以下简称“多功能高温炉”）设计的总则、设计流程以及总体结构设计、运动机构设计、热控设计、真空设计、控制设计、遥操作设计、软件设计、人机工效学设计、可靠性安全性设计和设计验证的要求。
本标准适用于在飞船、空间实验室、空间站等各类空间飞行平台上使用的多功能高温炉的设计。在卫星等其他飞行平台上的多功能高温炉的设计亦可参照本标准。
