本标准规定了在环境试剂中测定聚乙烯(PE)材料耐应力开裂性能的试验方法。该试验在压塑试片或制品上切取带缺口试样，将试样浸入保持在规定温度的环境试剂，如表面活性剂溶液中，并施以静态拉伸载荷，测定破坏时间。
本标准适用于评价聚乙烯材料，也适用于评价危险物/化学品等侵蚀性环境对聚乙烯挤出件，如管段、聚乙烯熔接件以及聚乙烯吹塑容器等的影响，其他热塑性材料，如聚丙烯(PP)也可参照使用。
注： 制品在加工时的应力/取向可能会对结果产生影响。
