本标准适用于对纸质土壤图采用扫描矢量化法进行1∶50 000、1∶100 000矢量土壤图的采集、更新和建库，也适用于采用该方法进行土壤性状专题图数字化产品的制作。本标准不适用于基于航片或遥感影像勾绘土壤界线的数字化方法进行矢量土壤图的采集、更新和建库。
